About Me
Hello, and welcome to my website! I’m Jacob, a DC-based journalist interested in politics, campaigns, and government.
I’m currently the deputy editor of Inside Elections, which provides nonpartisan analysis of campaigns for Senate, House, governor and president.
I appear regularly on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal to discuss the battle for the House and Senate, and I am a contributor at elections site FiveThirtyEight. In 2020, I was a part of election week coverage on WUSA9, CBS’s Washington, DC affiliate and worked on the decision desk at Edison Research, which provides results to ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN.
I have been quoted and cited on elections in outlets across the country including the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Fox News, the Associated Press, USA Today, the New York Daily News and more.
Prior to joining Inside Elections, I worked at NBC News in Washington, DC.
I’m a native of the DC area, and I attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where I studied government and history and was editor-in-chief of the independent student paper, The Cornell Daily Sun.
Please take a look at my work, and feel free to reach out with any questions!
