July 2019 - February 2020
As a Desk Assistant at the NBC News Bureau in Washington, DC, I supported the NBC News assignment desk in newsgathering, coordinating field crews, and other administrative tasks. I also logged live newscasts from competitor networks, and track interviews and broadcasts across the five major news networks. Additionally, I aided on-air correspondents and 2020 presidential campaign embeds with research and logging projects, and I wrote politics stories for the Meet the Press website.

cnn political unit
Summer 2018
At CNN's political unit, I researched congressional and gubernatorial races for the 2018 election cycle, drafting memos that summarized polling, fundraising, and policy issues. I also wrote election previews and primers that were featured on the CNN homepage, and conducted and participated in interviews with PAC operatives, state party chairs, and elected officials from across the political spectrum. On election nights, I prepared for and assisted in on-air coverage of primary and special elections as part of CNN’s Decision Desk, using Edison Research, AP Election Services, and the CNN election night toolkit.

The Cornell Daily Sun
Editor in Chief, 2018-2019
As Editor in Chief of The Cornell Daily Sun, Ithaca’s 139-year-old independent student newspaper, it was my role to craft long-term editorial vision focused on increasing interactive online content, New York City coverage, and brand recognition across Cornell’s campuses. I oversaw publication of 3 weekly print editions with a daily readership of 16,000 and 24/7 online content on our website, which received 1.2 million monthly page views, and managed a staff of 37 editors and 200-plus writers, photographers, designers, and business associates. I also sat on The Sun’s board of directors, managing a six-figure budget and several full-time employees. During my tenure, original reporting from The Sun was featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, NPR, and other major news media outlets.
Associate Editor, 2017-2018
As associate editor, I coordinated the publication of the Cornell Daily Sun's opinion, dining, and arts sections. I edited and published opinion columns written by our nearly 20 staff writers, guest columns and letters to the editor from members of the Cornell and Ithaca communities, and I wrote and edited editorials for The Sun. In addition to my editing duties, I physically designed the editorial and op-ed sections of the print paper using Adobe InDesign, published columns online using WordPress, and promoted opinion pieces on social media using The Sun’s official accounts.
